Manlio Masucci is a photo journalist dealing mainly with environmental, commercial and labour market issues, exploring the connections between the economic interests of large multinationals, commercial policies influenced by lobbies, the harmful effects of production and industrial distribution systems on the environment and on the health of workers and consumers.

 

In recent years he has focused in particular on the new generation of free trade treaties and on food quality, with particular attention to the conduct of multinationals with regard to issues of intellectual property and biodiversity conservation.

 

Phd doctor in Literature (University of Rome, NYU, UCL) he has worked for the main Italian media including Ansa, Il Messaggero, Il Manifesto and in particular as a correspondent from New York, Buenos Aires and New Delhi. He has also worked in the press office of the recent Monsanto Tribunal in The Hague and in the communication departments of various Italian NGOs as well as at ILO, the International Labour Organization. He is currently working for Navdanya International.
