The indigenous community of Otavalo, Ecuador, keeps alive its millenary tradition of saving and sharing seeds. Their struggle is about preserving their crops and especially their corn seeds from the attacks of the Ogm industry.

Seed is the first link in the food chain. Control over seed is therefore control over the entire food chain. Indigenous communities are preserving their seeds against the monopoly of multinationals. The region of Vidharba counts with the highest number of suicides among farmers. All over India are estimated to be over half a milion suicides in the last decade.

There are about 30.000 Conservancy Workers employed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation of Mumbai. The high number of official deaths (247 fatalities last year, 5 every week) is due to extremely poor safety conditions.
Kandhamal, India
Thousands of dalits and tribals belonging to the Christian minorities in the Kandhamal region of Orissa were victims of organized violence starting in August 2007.

Desaparecidos, Argentina
Dictatorship in Argentina left a heritage of 30.000 disappeared people (desaparecidos). Majority of their relatives are still looking for their bodies and for justice lead by Madres y Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo. As a form of protest the "Escrache" is often performed in front of the houses of the former militars. The dictatorship lasted 7 years, from 1976 until 1983. The last act of the militars was the expedition to get possession of Malvinas Islands (Falklands).
Child Labour, India
Child labor in India is a serious and extensive problem, with many children under the age of fourteen working across many sectors. According to the statistics given by International Labour Organization (Ilo) there are at least 12,6 million child laborers in the country, while other agencies claim that it is much more.

Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia
Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat at 10,582 square kilometers (4,086 sq mi). It is located in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes, and is elevated 3,656 meters (11,995 ft) above the mean sea level. The crust serves as a source of salt and covers a pool of brine, which is exceptionally rich in lithium. It contains 50 to 70% of the world's lithium reserves, which has yet to be extracted.
Workers, India
India is growing at a rate of 8%. However, the wealth produced seems to concern a very small part of the population. The vast majority still lives in inhuman conditions forced to live under Rs. 20 a day. Workers are often exploited and work under very poor conditions.

Thousands of people celebrated Krishna climbing a human pyramid to break a Handi, a clay pot filled with buttermilk that is positioned at a convenient height prior to the event; the topmost person on the human pyramid tries to break the Handi, and when that happens, the buttermilk is spilled over the entire group, symbolizing their achievement through unity.
